Pick a paper
Cambridge 1 to 21, whichever book you like. Practice mode goes at your pace; exam mode holds you to the real time limit.
Hand in and read your band
Listening and Reading are marked against the published answer key. Writing and Speaking come back with a band on each criterion and a comment on each.
Not just a number — where the marks are going
Writing and Speaking are marked to the published band descriptors. You choose who does it: the AI, or one of our instructors.
- A separate band for each criterion — Task, Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammar
- A specific comment on each one, naming what would move it up
- Your first AI Writing evaluation and your first AI Speaking evaluation cost nothing
- Every band here is practice, never a certificate — and the page says so where it matters

A handful from the list — not the list.
The questions people ask first
Every Cambridge paper, books 1 to 21, is free — and no card is asked for at any point, so there is nothing that could charge you. Paid plans exist for the Advanced papers and for more AI evaluations.
Both. You pick yours when you open the account so the right papers are shown first, and you can switch whenever you like.
You can, and plenty do. The real IELTS is sat at a computer though, so if you have a laptop, practising on one is worth the trouble: the split Reading screen and the Writing word count behave the way they will on the day.
It is a practice band, not a certificate, and nothing here is affiliated with the official test. Listening and Reading are marked against the published answer key, and Writing and Speaking to the published band descriptors — which is what makes it a reliable read on where you stand, not a guess.
No. It runs in the browser you are reading this in. Speaking needs microphone permission when you start that module, and nothing before.
It reads what you wrote, or listens to what you recorded, and marks it against the same descriptors an examiner uses — a band per criterion with a comment on each. Your first Writing and first Speaking evaluation are free. If it cannot mark something, the evaluation comes back to you and an instructor takes it.
Find out where you stand, while there is still time to move it
The first test costs nothing and asks for no card. Your Listening and Reading bands come back the moment you hand in.
